The high brick walls you see today at Farrelly Pool were built to be a wind barrier at the pool. To fund the walls, volunteers sold bricks for $2 each. Labor was provided by community volunteers, including the Roosevelt Dads' Club, headed by Frank Fehn (far left), president of the Roosevelt Dads' Club and chairman of the Frank De Mello Memorial fund. One of the dads who was an experienced mason oversaw the project.
